Two Souls Reunited
A poem about eternal love, written in free verse

Our souls were unknowingly searching for the other; separated and lost through time. But, always drawn back together. When we first met and before our eyes could recognize one another, they had already touched and entangled themselves; rejoicing in a love reunited.
She gracefully dances for me, like a feather floating on a warm summer breeze. There are pretty white flowers in her long blonde hair and it flows in harmony with the hypnotic movements of her body.
Her soft touch quiets the war inside my head and eases my torment. Her eyes, bluer than a beautiful tropical sea, penetrate my soul — she sees my pain.
Her laughter reassures me I am safe now, giggling like a little girl on Christmas morning; happily and pure. It is tantalizing.
There is nothing that can hurt me now. I am at peace.
She holds our bodies together tightly in her arms; she wraps her long soft legs around me, sealing me inside her protective cocoon.
The warmth from her body dizzies me in euphoria like a narcotic coursing through my veins. I touch the paradise deep inside her. The earth quakes as we both shudder. Exhaustion consuming us, together we float off into a deep and peaceful sleep. There are no demons in my dreams tonight; just this angel cradling me.
Dancing away on the warm summer breeze that caresses my skin, her soothing gaze tells me all I need to know — I am hers and she is mine, forever.
I smile as I drift back into a deep slumber — I know she will return to me and we will be lost in each other’s embrace again soon.
She will protect me from the terrors that await me in the night with her sweet innocence and love. Throughout the millennia, she always has. She is the only peace I have ever known.
